The Story Of O:Untold Pleasures
A remake of the 80′s original with a bit of tweaking for a modern audience. Everybody should be familiar with the story of O, the book by Paula Reage which relayed scenes of female submission and male domination. In its day it shocked an audience and empowered a generation of women, becoming part of our sex education ever since.
The original french erotic movie was far more exciting than the remake with scenes of gang bangs and extreme punishment that left you questioning your own response to what you saw on screen. It defied the traditional representation of what turned women on and what they wanted from a sexual experience. Female desire as shown in the film challenged the feminist view of control in a relationship.
The main character is female and appears to be very much in charge. She chooses which sexual act to engage in or not and herself breaks rules of the agreement on numerous occasions. There is a definite shift in control within her relationship with Sir Stephen which goes against the original depiction of her losing control. The original message is lost with this film and what you see is a girl who enjoys being tied up and fucked by a bunch of strangers and enjoying a bloody good spanking. She is a woman eager to explore her own sexuality in a series of sexual experimentation’s with explosive results.
